Kathryn's Projects and Grant Success
The Interurban Pedestrian Bridge
Kathryn's application to the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) for funding the Interurban Pedestrian Bridge marked her first major grant proposal. Her efforts resulted in the City securing nearly $700,000 for the project.
Just four years later, the bridge was successfully installed. On the day of installation, Kathryn seized the opportunity to climb a large mound of excavated earth, ensuring the best vantage point to witness the milestone.
Spanning Cahoon Creek at the heart of Cahoon Park, the bridge connects Lake Road and Wolf Road, allowing pedestrians to traverse the park seamlessly while remaining within its bounds.

Crossing Guard Booths
In 2020, the City introduced a new logo, which was gradually implemented across various applications. To ensure consistency in branding, Kathryn developed a comprehensive Brand & Style Guide in 2021. Additionally, she played a key role in adapting the logo for different uses.
Kathryn also designed two layout options for the wraps on school crossing guard booths and conducted an online survey to gather residents’ feedback. While both designs received positive comments, the navy version emerged as the preferred choice. This design has since been applied to all crossing guard booths, providing them with a much-needed refresh.

Rose Hill
While new projects bring excitement, preserving existing and historically significant sites is equally rewarding. The State of Ohio awarded Bay Village state capital funding to support the Rose Hill stabilization project, ensuring the continued protection of this important landmark.
Visitors to Bay Village are encouraged to explore the Rose Hill Museum and Cahoon Homestead, where an impressive and expertly curated collection showcases the area's rich history. The museum is open to the public from April through December on Sunday afternoons, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Grant Success
In Kathryn's six years with Bay Village, she wrote and/or managed over $7.8 million in grants awarded to the city.
